Introduction to Allaccor Group Hotels
The Allaccor Group stands as a prominent player within the global hospitality industry, recognized for its commitment to providing exceptional service and a diverse array of accommodations. With a portfolio that includes numerous hotel brands, Allaccor caters to various travel needs, encompassing everything from luxury to budget-friendly options. The significant aspect that distinguishes Allaccor Group hotels is their emphasis on friendly service, which is instrumental in enhancing guest experiences. For instance, Allaccor Group hotels often provide personalized welcome notes and complimentary refreshments upon arrival. Additionally, they offer 24/7 concierge services to assist with any guest needs, from booking local tours to arranging special celebrations. Another notable initiative is their "Kids Stay Free" program, which aims to make family travel more affordable and enjoyable.
We chose the All Accor network completely by chance. When my husband and I started traveling, we were naturally looking for accommodations based on price, but over time we also began seeking experiences. From comparing reviews, location, price, and the appearance of accommodations, the hotels belonging to All Accor always stood out.
So let's dive in...
Pullman Phuket Nation Beach:
A Tropical Oasis
Pullman Phuket Nation Beach stands out as a premier destination in Thailand, set against the stunning backdrop of the Andaman Sea. This luxurious resort offers a picturesque beachfront location that allows guests to revel in the beauty of nature while enjoying modern comforts. The resort’s architectural design compliments the tropical surroundings, creating a serene atmosphere that invites relaxation and rejuvenation.
Guests at the Pullman Phuket Nation Beach can choose from a variety of room options, each designed with elegance and comfort in mind. Accommodations range from spacious deluxe rooms to exquisite suites, all boasting contemporary furnishings and private balconies overlooking the lush gardens or the sparkling sea. The meticulous attention to detail ensures that every guest feels pampered and at home during their stay.
Pullman Nathan Beach was our first 'luxury' hotel. We had a room with a huge French window, an ocean view, a king-sized bed, and a large bathroom. However, there were several reasons why we liked the hotel so much. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive, and at the time, the restaurant was managed by a European manager, so even though you're far from home, you feel a little European. The surroundings of the hotel, or rather its exterior, are also beautiful, as you can see in the photos—there are waterfalls, little pools everywhere, and the hotel even has its own Komodo dragon in one pond! Despite the great breakfast, I personally don't recommend eating only at the hotel in Thailand. There are small local eateries everywhere where you can enjoy a great meal for a very reasonable price.
We felt great at the Pullman (as we familiar call it at home). Even though the hotel is more fancy, we never felt like we didn’t belong there as an ordinary family from Europe—quite the opposite. It was the first time we could truly experience an amazing stay, and that too on the famous Phuket in Thailand.
Dhawa Yura Kyoto:
Embracing Japanese Hospitality
Dhawa Yura Kyoto epitomizes the harmonious blend of contemporary design and traditional Japanese hospitality, creating a unique experience for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the rich cultural heritage of Kyoto. This hotel stands out not only for its striking architecture and modern conveniences but also for its thoughtful inclusion of elements that pay homage to Japan’s illustrious past.
The decor throughout Dhawa Yura is marked by minimalist elegance, a hallmark of Japanese aesthetics. With a focus on natural materials and subtle color palettes, guests are welcomed into a serene atmosphere that promotes relaxation and tranquility. The hotel features a variety of accommodations, each designed with comfort in mind, complemented by elegant furnishings that reflect the simplicity and beauty of Kyoto's traditional craftsmanship.
We recently returned from Japan. We’ll write more about the trip itself, but I’d like to mention our stay at the Dhawa Yura Kyoto hotel here. First of all, we were very pleased with the size of the bed and how comfortable it was. Since we stayed in a tiny Airbnb in Tokyo, this was a nice change. The breakfast was great—I completely fell in love with the pickled mushrooms and the fantastic omelette made fresh to order by the chef just for you. The staff was wonderful, always ready to lend us an umbrella whenever it rained (which was often, as Japan is plagued by typhoons in the summer). You could also borrow bikes, and the hotel had a mini gym and a cozy lounge next to the reception, where you could make coffee or green tea anytime for free.
Located conveniently near popular attractions, the hotel is a perfect base for exploring Kyoto. The hotel has a truly great location. Very close by (about 10 minutes' walk, even with a lazy kids) is the Gion district, where you can find all the historic houses and locations perfect for Instagram photos, and you might even catch a glimpse of a Geisha. Be careful though—don’t stare, they’re not animals, they’re women! A huge advantage of the hotel is that it’s literally right next to Sanjo Station, a train and metro stop, from where you can get to Nara or Osaka without using a JR Pass!
Overall, Dhawa Yura Kyoto successfully merges modern luxury with authenticity, making it a compelling choice for travelers interested in experiencing the essence of Japanese hospitality.
Bangkok Novotel Airport: Convenience Meets Comfort
The Bangkok Novotel Airport hotel is renowned for its unparalleled convenience, being strategically located just a few minutes away from Suvarnabhumi Airport. This prime position makes it a popular choice for travelers seeking a stress-free stay either during layovers or short trips. The hotel's commitment to providing superior comfort begins the moment guests arrive, as they benefit from a free shuttle service that facilitates quick and easy access to and from the airport terminals.
Upon entering the Bangkok Novotel Airport, guests are welcomed by a modern, stylish lobby that reflects the hotel's dedication to offering an enjoyable guest experience. Each room is designed with soundproofing technology, ensuring a peaceful atmosphere for rest and relaxation, appropriate for weary travelers arriving from long-haul flights. With a range of room types available, visitors can choose accommodations that best suit their needs, whether they require extra space for a family or a compact setting for a solo journey.
Business travelers will appreciate the extensive facilities tailored to their requirements. The hotel provides ample meeting spaces, equipped with advanced audiovisual technology, as well as high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property. In addition to these features, the hotel also has a fantastic pool with lion statues, where you can relax before a long flight home. For us, the hotel holds sentimental value. When we first returned home from Southeast Asia, it was March 2020. Yes, that's right—COVID-19 had just started, our flights kept getting rescheduled, and we were stressed out. However, the staff and facilities at this hotel helped us get through this difficult time, and that's why we remember it so fondly to this day. And, of course, that giant bed..
The team at Bangkok Novotel Airport is dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, always ready to assist with any inquiries or needs that may arise during a stay. Whether you are in transit or enjoying a brief getaway, the combination of convenience and comfort at this hotel promises an enjoyable and peaceful experience. I also consider it a great advantage that the hotel is connected to the airport by a walkway, or rather a covered corridor, so you can walk directly from the hotel to check-in.
Tips for Choosing the Right Hotel for Your Travel Needs
Selecting the right hotel is essential to enhance your travel experience, and it requires careful consideration of various factors. The primary step involves identifying the purpose of your travel. If you are traveling for business, proximity to the conference center, business amenities, and a reliable Wi-Fi connection are crucial. Conversely, if you are vacationing with family, you may prioritize hotels that offer spacious accommodations, kid-friendly amenities, and convenient access to local attractions.
Budget is another significant consideration when choosing a hotel. It is prudent to establish a budget before you begin your search, as this will help narrow down your options. Consider not only the room rates but also additional expenses such as parking fees, resort fees, and meal costs. Some hotels offer packages that include breakfast or excursions, which can provide better value compared to those that charge separately for these services.
Most travel blogs give you the usual advice on how to find a place to stay. But here’s my first tip:
Don’t Panic – I know, I know, you've probably heard someone say, "I could never travel like that!" or "But what if they lose your reservation? What will you do?!" Well, if I lived my life listening to my inner worrywart, I’d never leave the couch. Spoiler alert: I’ve never had a hotel cancel on me. Now, Airbnb? That’s a different story. I once had my Airbnb booking canceled on the day I was flying out. No biggie—I just quickly found a new place in New York, no sweat (okay, maybe a little sweat). The key is: be prepared. Hotels today have, like, 50 different ways to check if your reservation exists. You don’t even need to speak to a human—just email or WhatsApp them! Easy peasy.
Price Comparison is Your New Best Friend – Sometimes Booking.com wins, sometimes Agoda, and sometimes the hotel’s own site has the deal of the century. And if you sign up for membership clubs, you can collect points like a travel wizard, unlocking discounts or a free upgrade to that suite with a view. Personally, I’m a proud member of the All Accor app club—scoring discounts and other perks while feeling like I’ve got an inside scoop.
Google Maps is a Hidden Gem – No joke, Google Maps isn’t just for finding pizza. Not every hotel has a website or is listed on major booking platforms. So, if you zoom in on those pink hotel icons, you might stumble on a hidden treasure that’s right next to the metro or the spot you want to visit—and at a price that’ll make you do a happy dance. Just don’t forget to check reviews.
Check Reviews Religiously – Don’t go anywhere that hasn’t been reviewed, especially on Airbnb. And don’t just read the ancient reviews. Maybe a hotel updated their decor, and what used to be "grungy chic" is now Instagram-worthy modern. Or worse, a once-glamorous hotel could have gone downhill after firing half the staff, and now nobody feels welcome—including the guests. Keep an eye on the latest reviews, and you’ll avoid surprises (well, at least the bad ones!).
